We all know about the concerns the US government has about Mythos and Fable 5 models. Even GPT 5.6 is being released to a select group before it is rolled out eventually. There are a couple of leaks that now suggest that Fable 5 may require identify verification. Sonnet 5 is expected to announced soon though. It will have a knowledge cut off of Jan 26. It will be launching at $2/10 per mt promotional rate. Whether this will keep customers happy remains to be seen. It is highly doubtful that many will give up their identity to use a model that is heavily restricted anyway.
