Vibe coders are always looking for ways to get their hands on even better models. There are many decent proprietary coding models available these days. Kimi K2 is one of the best open source coding models we have tested. It has 1TB parameters with 32B active ones. This MoE model is toping the charts among open models.
I was able to build a maze generator and rubik’s cube solver with a simple prompt. There were no errors, missed libraries and other issues that are common to other models. Kimi K2 also has an API which costs $0.15m for input tokens (cache hit) and $2.5m output tokens.
