Agentic AI is the future. We hear about companies investing a lot of money to build smarter agents. OpenAI is now enabling ChatGPT users to create agents that can handle long-running tasks. They are powered by Codex, so they can do lots of tasks you already do. Users can now build agents and use them in Slack and ChatGPT. You will just have to click Agents in your sidebar, describe what you want it to do, and add your channels and tools.
So what can you do with something like this? You can create a software review agent to enforce policy, a product feedback routing agent to prioritize what matters, and a lead outreach agent. In the meantime, GPT 5.5 is expected to be released later today. The latest models now focus on smarter pretrained models that don’t have to rely on extended reasoning chains.
