We hear about new MCPs all the time. It is an open source standard designed to allow AI systems to interact with external tools, like Unity or Blender. OpenAI has now announced support for this standard.

MCP servers can be added to Agents. As OpenAI explains:
The Agents SDK will call list_tools() on the MCP servers each time the Agent is run. This makes the LLM aware of the MCP server’s tools. When the LLM calls a tool from an MCP server, the SDK calls call_tool() on that server.
OpenAI suggests MCP support for the OpenAI API and ChatGPT desktop app is in the works.
